Disability and Loss of Time Benefits

The Union Labor Life Insurance Company offers both statutory and non-statutory Disability and Loss of Time benefits to its members as part of its commitment to provide them with resources to cover their expenses in the unfortunate event that they are unable to perform the essential duties of their regular occupation due to temporary or permanent disability.

Short-term Disability benefits provide income protection for a limited period if your members are unable to work because of disability due to illness or injury. Long-term Disability provides for a longer period of protection. Both Short-term and Long-term Disability benefits will be provided after satisfaction of an Elimination or Waiting Period as described in the policy.

Paid Family Leave (New York)
The Union Labor Life Insurance Company supports the State of New York in its “pursuit of equality and dignity in both the workplace and home” for New Yorkers by offering Paid Family Leave (PFL) benefits, in conjunction with the statutory short-term Disability Insurance requirement (DBL). Members may use the benefits to bond with a new child, care for a loved one with a serious health condition or to help relieve family pressures when someone is called to active military service abroad.
