Michael J. Barone

Biography

Mike Barone serves as Director of Corporate Credit Research at UIA Investment Management, LLC. In this role, Mr. Barone builds analytical models and systems used to evaluate company capital structures and credit, and is responsible for the analysis and selection of corporate credit securities. Over the last 20 years he has covered investment grade and high yield bonds, convertible bonds, and bank loans in various credit analyst roles with asset managers, hedge funds, banks, and insurance companies. His most recent experience was as an issuer of public debt and portfolio management in the Strategic Debt Management Group at North Carolina State University. Previous roles include a Senior Credit Analyst with Silverback Asset Management, Akela Capital, Deutsche Asset Management, and MetLife Investment Management. Mr. Barone earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Hofstra University. He served over seven years as an Army Officer in the Field Artillery and completed Formal Credit Training from The Bank of New York.
