Director, Claims, Ullico Casualty Group Inc.
Dominic Vari is an experienced claims professional who, since 1994, has managed claims and represented carriers in a wide variety of negotiations and settlements. Mr. Vari uses his background as a bar-admitted attorney to manage litigation strategy with outside counsel, negotiate multi-million dollar settlements, and review and update policy language to reflect changing trends in exposures. Additionally, he has managed compliance and fraud issues with regulatory bodies, coordinated with the U.S. Department of Labor on investigations and drafted agreements for new lines of business.
Since joining Ullico in 2004, he has handled the full spectrum of claims responses for the Fiduciary and Union Liability product lines, ranging from simple coverage questions to representing Ullico in all manners of court proceedings. His work has been instrumental in not only controlling and mitigating product-related risk exposures, but also in launching new product lines. His experiences as an adjuster for State Farm Insurance prior to joining Ullico, as well as his professional review of current trends, have been essential in maintaining and growing the business that serves Ullico’s affinity market.
Mr. Vari received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and holds a Juris Doctorate from the Delaware Law School at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in 1994.
