WASHINGTON, D.C. (Aug. 29, 2012) — Ullico Inc., the only labor-owned insurance and investment company, announced today that Rohit Syal has joined Ullico Investment Advisors, Inc., as a director.
Syal has over 10 years of infrastructure sector experience in project finance, public-private-partnerships (P3), capital markets, and feasibility analysis. Prior to joining Ullico, he was a senior vice president at Loop Capital Markets where he managed the firm's infrastructure advisory and finance practice. In this role, he advised public and private sector clients on several infrastructure investment projects in the U.S., including: the $6 billion Tappan Zee Bridge replacement; the $483 million monetization of the Ohio State University's public parking assets; the $200 million Off-Street Parking System Concession with the city of Los Angeles; the $6 billion Red Line Modernization and Extension project in Chicago and the $30 million Ford Calumet Environmental Center, also in Chicago.
In addition, Syal spent six years at Wilbur Smith Associates' Transportation Finance Group as a feasibility and P3 consultant for U.S. and international transportation projects.
He holds a Master of Business Administration with honors from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona. Syal has a registered representative designation from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
