Ullico, Inc., one of the nation’s largest sources for real estate first mortgage financing, is actively recruiting a Manager, Post Closer to join a group that manages a $4.1 billion portfolio. Ullico’s Real Estate Debt Group offers construction and permanent debt financing for commercial real estate. This position is responsible for loan covenant tracking and post‐closing quality control reviews of all commercial real estate loans. Additionally, responsible for assuring those loans processed meet REDG’s policies and procedures, along with accepted industry standards and regulatory requirements, while ensuring quality customer service to REDG staff and customers.

The successful candidate will:

  • Review executed loan package for completion and confirm receipt of original Notes, closing binders, properly recorded instruments, title policies and so on. Mirror newly recorded county level UCCs on vendor site for continuation tracking.
  • Ensure receipt of title company documentation required for funding loan – wire instructions, and W‐9. Confirm vendor ID has been established.
  • Ensure a post‐closing checklist is completed within 30 days of the closing date and any missing documents are entered into the tracking system. Continue to monitor and ensure receipt of corrections and missing documents.
  • Track confirmation of closing fee payments approved for post‐closing receipt.
  • Request corrections and missing documentation from closing attorneys or branch personnel in writing until all outstanding items have been reconciled.
  • Maintains anticipated loan closings tracking report to monitor the status and timing of loans in closing stage.
  • Assists Director with garnering signatures for closings. Prepare signature blocks and co‐ordinate delivery.
  • Assist with the monitoring of commercial loan portfolio insurance policies following regulatory requirements, including the review of renewal certificates to monitor and document deviations from initial insurance requirements.
  • Process UCC continuations – printing reports of pending expirations, matching proper loan records, and printing all UCC filings as shown in legal closing binder. Confirm active status for applicable loans.
  • Enter post‐closing ticklers into shared calendar for tracking. Review and follow up on all outstanding post‐closing ticklers and exceptions weekly to ensure outstanding items are received and cleared according to set procedures.
  • Organize working electronic file to approved uniform structure and prepare reviewed closing binder for Manager ‐ Portfolio Administration.
  • Establish initial loan covenant tracking for new loans and applicable modifications.
  • Perform other similar and related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field minimum of 5 to 7 years of commercial closing and/or commercial post loan closing experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail are critical for this role. Candidate must have outstanding organizational skills as well as the ability to perform under pressure, meet various deadlines and exercise sound judgment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
