Perhaps never in our lifetimes, has the Holiday Season come with so much challenge or a New Year beckoned with so much hope.
We have experienced dramatic and unsettling changes to our way of life, and many of us have faced personal loss. Much of what we cherish has been put on hold as we face a historic, life-threatening pandemic. But as workers and their unions have always done, we will prevail.
We will prevail because of essential union workers who are caring for the sick, making deliveries, continuing to build critical infrastructure and in every way possible, working to keep our nations running. They have done so while risking their own wellbeing, often with too little reward. It will be these same union workers who will help make it possible for a life-saving inoculation to reach millions of people. They have built the facilities where a miracle of science is being manufactured, they will drive the trucks and fly the planes to deliver it, and they will administer the vaccines.
I am proud too that in this trying year, our company – the labor movement's company – has more than risen to challenges. Despite hardship, Ullico has thrived and grown in its mission to serve unions and union workers due to our world-class team and due to the strength and leadership of our union stakeholders.
Without a doubt, this year is one for the history books. But we always have been and always will be here for working men and women. To everyone in the Ullico family, to our friends, and to my brothers and sisters, I wish you and your loved ones a season filled with meaning, joy and hope.
