Ullico mourns the passing of longtime board member Mark H. Ayers
It is with deep sadness that we inform you today of the sudden passing of longtime Ullico Inc. board member Mark H. Ayers, President of the Building and Construction Trades Department (BCTD) of the AFL-CIO, on April 8, 2012.
Mark’s innovative and visionary leadership within the union movement provided invaluable guidance to Ullico and its Directors through the years, where he served as Secretary-Treasurer since 2007. In a statement by the BCTD, Ayers was hailed as “a labor leader of vision, innovation, passion and integrity, and it was through his leadership that North America's Building Trades Unions were on the path to success and increased market share for the union construction industry.”
Mark was dedicated to improving the lives of working men and women and their families, and the labor movement has benefited greatly from his steadfast commitment to that goal. Mark also served as a trustee on the board of the Diabetes Research Institute, and Ullico was proud to support his commitment to this important organization.
The Ullico family offers our heartfelt condolences to Mark’s family and friends.
