ULLICO Inc. Appoints William C. Thornton as Vice President of Corporate Marketing
WASHINGTON, DC. (April 7, 2009) — ULLICO Inc., labor's own insurance and financial services company, announced the hiring of William C. Thornton as Vice President of Corporate Marketing. Mr. Thornton will focus on raising the profile of the organization in the marketplace.
Mr. Thornton will be instrumental in supporting Company objectives by developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and strategic public relation plans, and reenergizing ULLICO's brands.
"I am extremely pleased to have Bill on board; he will be a great addition to our already strong cadre of business and labor leaders," said Mark Singleton, Chief Executive Officer of ULLICO Inc. “With a solid track record in the financial services industry, his contributions will help us communicate the ULLICO story to our key audiences."
Over the past 35 years, Mr. Thornton has held positions of increasing responsibility primarily in the financial services industry. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at LandAmerica Financial Group, where he managed all marketing efforts for the company and provided strategic guidance as part of the executive leadership team.

Mr. Thornton earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia.
