ULLICO Inc. Appoints Gary L. Burke as President of The Union Labor Life Insurance Company

WASHINGTON, DC (April 7, 2009) — ULLICO Inc., labor's own insurance and financial services company, announced the appointment of Gary L. Burke as President of its subsidiary The Union Labor Life Insurance Company (Union Labor Life). Mr. Burke will oversee the day-to-day insurance operations and field services organization of Union Labor Life, whose product lines include group life and AD&D, medical stop loss, direct marketing products and individual life products. Mr. Burke has functioned in a comparable role since June 2008 as a consultant to Union Labor Life.

Mr. Burke envisions continued growth and expansion for Union Labor Life in the future. “Part of our growth plan is to market to unionized public sector employees, including teachers and state and municipal government workers. These union members and their families can benefit from the same type of unique insurance solutions we're able to provide to other labor sectors.”

Before joining ULLICO Inc., Mr. Burke was Head of Marketing Development for ING US Wealth Management Segment where he oversaw the development and implementation of acquisition strategy of Retail Annuity. He has also served as the Acting Chief Operating Officer at JLM Risk Management, and as the President and COO at Structured Financial Associates, Inc., both in Atlanta, Georgia. He was Vice President of LSO Distribution and Cross Market Development at CNA Insurance Companies in Nashville, Tennessee and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Fidelity and Guaranty Life Insurance Company.

Mr. Burke is a graduate of Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
