Network Specialist, Information Technology Department
Ullico, Inc., is actively recruiting a Network Specialist for our Information Technology Department in Silver Spring, MD. This person will perform daily network/desktop operations and maintenance, problem resolution and equipment upgrades. Monitor the health of the network(s) and desktop(s), implement corrective actions. Assist in achieving services level targets.
The ideal candidate will:
Respond to network/ desktop related trouble calls. Identify and analyze network/desktop malfunctions, determine and implement necessary corrective actions. Maintain confidentiality when working on management’s desktops or file shares. Monitor network/desktop health using software management tools and take corrective action.
- Perform network/desktop related maintenance, i.e., operating system upgrades; install new applications, upgrades, and installations.
- Participate in completion of projects as defined, in accordance with project timelines.
- Assist in testing new technologies and techniques, utilizing the ULLICO network test lab.
- Provide networking/desktop expertise/support for the application development and management teams.
- Keep accurate records of network/desktop components, i.e., server configurations, IP address schemes, network schematics and drawings.
- Assist in disaster recovery activities, i.e., maintain backup (ghost) images of servers/PCs, spare parts, software CDs/disks, and documentation of recovery methodology.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least two to three years related experience required. Effective written and oral communication skills are a must.

Claims Analyst, Property and Casualty Department
Ullico Casualty Company, the Property and Casualty Insurance Subsidiary of Ullico Inc. is actively recruiting a Senior Claims Analyst for the Washington, DC office.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Analyzes and prepares claims from initiation to settlement. Liaisons with the insured, their agent and counsel, and Ullico management to resolve claims. Prepares status reports and assists in determining the most cost effective means to resolve the claim.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews claims to ascertain and analyze facts, to interpret coverage and to prepare positions as well as periodically reviews status of claim.
- Reviews new assignments and inputs case data into computer system.
- Investigates allegations of the insured; monitors case and obtains information from counsel and/or adverse carriers may also obtain information directly from claimant.
- Assigns appraisers, investigators, property adjusters to cases. Contacts and discusses cases with brokers, claimant or insured.
- Analyzes settlement proposals.
- Attends training seminars and in-house committee meetings.
- Performs other job related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUAIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have three to five years of claims experience. An Associate’s degree is required. A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail are critical for the role.

Senior Executive Assistant, Law Department Department
Ullico Inc., headquartered in Washington, D.C., is actively recruiting a Senior Executive Assistant to support the General Counsel and other attorneys in the Company’s in-house Law Department. The ideal candidate must be skilled at navigating shifting priorities, possess outstanding oral and written communication skills, exhibit a high level of professionalism, and bring at least 5-7 years of Administrative experience preferably, in a law firm or in-house legal department environment.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Managing correspondence, reports, mail, pleadings and other materials through the use of the Department’s matter management application.Preparing correspondence, reports, Power Point presentations, forms, documents and mailings.
- Assembly and distribution of meeting packages; proofreading written materials; assisting with meeting room set-up and breakdown.
- Providing administrative support, including typing, filing, answering phones, faxing, copying, etc.
- Managing, coordinating, scheduling and maintaining the calendar for the assigned attorneys.
- Scheduling and arranging meetings and making travel arrangements as required.
- Preparing invoices for payment, processing check requests and expense reports, preparing monthly reports relating to outside counsel expenses.
- May also include minor research assignments for publicly available information.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5 to 7 years of administrative experience in a law firm or in-house legal department environment. Proven ability to maintain highly confidential information and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, are required. Must be able to type 45 - 50 WPM. Experience in the insurance industry and/or financial service industry is a decided plus.
